A 100 MWp grid-connected solar power plant near Zuzu, Dodoma Region — supplying clean electricity to Tanzania's national grid under a long-term power purchase agreement with TANESCO.

Located on flat, open land at Zuzu, near Dodoma, the plant uses fixed-tilt, utility-scale crystalline-silicon PV modules to generate electricity that is delivered directly into TANESCO's national grid — supporting Tanzania's growing capital region with clean, domestically generated power.
The plant has no on-site battery storage in the current project scope.
Modeled using long-term solar resource data for the Zuzu, Dodoma site — an indicative, pre-feasibility estimate.

By displacing electricity that would otherwise be generated from fossil fuel sources, the Zuzu Solar PV Project is estimated to avoid approximately 60,400 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
Unlike thermal generation, the plant draws no water for cooling and produces no local air pollution — directly supporting Tanzania's National Energy Policy and its climate commitments under the Paris Agreement.

Baobab is developing the Zuzu Solar PV Project in partnership with TANESCO and the Ministry of Energy, United Republic of Tanzania.
